The mechanism

Liability light: pay now, we execute later.

LOOBA takes over your end-of-life recycling liability. Compensation is reserved in a Swiss collateral structure, then paid to an approved recycler when treatment is due.

    You pay LOOBA

    The agreed recycling compensation is paid at registration. Each battery, batch or defined pool is recorded against the producer’s EPR participation.

  2. 02

    Funds are secured

    Compensation backs a Swiss-issued certificate, held in a product-specific collateral account. The recycler is not the custodian of the producer’s future recycling liabilities.

  3. 03

    LOOBA pays the recycler

    When end-of-life treatment is required, LOOBA settles with a competitively selected, approved recycler from the network.

  4. 04

    Recycling is executed

    Batteries are treated under a LOOBA passport. If the appointed recycler fails, LOOBA replaces the operator. An independent bank Performance Guarantee sits alongside the certificate.
